Trickfilme

Meine Trickfilme entstehen auf Grundlage von Bleistift- oder Tuschezeichnungen – allerdings ohne Storyboard. 
Während eines „Stream of Unconsciousness“ entwickelt sich eine Metamorphose der Formen und Deutungsangebote. 
Im Laufe des Arbeitsprozesses treibt mich die Neugierde zu sehen, wohin der Film während  seiner Entstehung geführt wird.

Die animierten Silhouetten sind formal an die Scherenschnitt-Tradition der Romantik angelehnt: Vergleichbar mit den Märchen aus dieser Zeit, beispielsweise der Brüder Grimm oder Wilhelm Hauff, thematisieren sie das Spannungsfeld von Identität und Anderssein und den damit einhergehenden Übergang vom Vertrautem ins Unbekannte und Unheimliche.

My animated films are based on pencil or ink drawings – though I don’t use a storyboard.
During a “stream of unconsciousness,” a metamorphosis of forms and possible interpretations unfolds.
Throughout the creative process, I’m driven by curiosity to see where the film will turn out to go as it takes shape.

The animated silhouettes are formally inspired by the Romantic tradition of paper cutouts: Similar to the fairy tales of that era, such as those by the Brothers Grimm or Wilhelm Hauff, they explore the tension between identity and otherness and the accompanying transition from the familiar into the unknown and the uncanny.
